Book News: Christmas at Tiffany's by Karen Swan

Karen Swan's third novel Christmas At Tiffany's is due out in a few days, so I thought I better do a post about it, especially as it's my current read of the moment too! It's official release date is November 18th, and although I wasn't keen at first on the cover, thinking it was too grey and dull, now I have a proof copy, it does look extremely pretty and wintery in real life!

"Cassie settled down too young, marrying her first serious boyfriend. Now, ten years later, she is betrayed and broken. With her marriage in tatters and no career or home of her own, she needs to work out where she belongs in the world and who she really is.

So begins a year-long trial as Cassie leaves her sheltered life in rural Scotland to stay with each of her best friends in the most glamorous cities in the world: New York, Paris and London. Exchanging grouse moor and mousy hair for low-carb diets and high-end highlights, Cassie tries on each city for size as she attempts to track down the life she was supposed to have been leading, and with it, the man who was supposed to love her all along."

You can order Christmas At Tiffany's in paperback and on Kindle (links go to Amazon)

  1. Sounds like a big ripoff of the Melissa Hill Tiffany's book, how do they get away with stuff like that?

  2. Hi Katherine, The use of the name 'Tiffanys' in the title is a coincidence, not a rip-off. My book was written well over a year ago, as I'm sure was Melissa's, and her's has been published just a few short weeks before mine. There's probably no other overlap between our books at all, other than the referencing of a luxury store that is known the world over and is referenced by many writers all the time.

  3. Having finished it Katherine, I can tell you the books are absolutely nothing alike. Yes, the title are very similar, but the stories aren't.

  4. Still think its a bit cheeky, according to the reviews the story has nothing much to do with Tiffanys and the Melisa Hill book has been out ages!

  5. Does it matter? As much as it sucks that both books are released around the same time and have one similar word in their title, I don't think it automatically falls under a 'rip off'.
I am pretty sure that if it was a rip off, the book wouldn't have been released.
