Book Cover Reveal: The Casual Vacancy by J. K. Rowling
Well. I'm not quite sure what to say. The cover for J. K. Rowling's highly anticipated first adult novel The Casual Vacancy has been released and it's... well... pretty awful. Just dire. How on earth could her publishers get this so wrong?? Compared to her gorgeous Harry Potter covers, this doesn't tempt me at all and I would NEVER pick this up. It kind of looks like something my 6 year old son would make on Paint. Maybe I'm alone in this, but let's find out... vote in the poll below and let us know if you like the cover or not!

I love the hand-lettering, and I think it's very graphic and unusual. Not entirely convinced by the colours. Still, from the blurb it's such a departure for her, they wanted something totally different from the Potter books. It's not like any other jacket I've seen, and I think it'll really stand out. Not that it'll need to...
ReplyDeleteSad to say, it's ghastly!
ReplyDeleteoh dear :(
ReplyDeleteIt's horrible but it has her name on it and they've left some space at the bottom to put in Sunday Times Bestseller etc.
ReplyDeleteUghhh!
ReplyDeleteIt's awful!! Any chance this could be a teaser and not the real version?
ReplyDeleteHopefully they will change it
ReplyDeleteHave a super week
